High - Wide Excavator Conversion

June 2006 Glasgow Engineering was contacted by Blue Tier Logging and Komatsu to undertake a high - wide conversion to a Rotree cultivating excavator.

This was a very interesting project which required the body of the excavator to be lifted up for clearing tree stumps and the track frame widened out to make the excavator more stable on hill sides. The excavator was driven in to the company works and raised up on to a purpose built cradle, the track assemblies were then cut off and widened out and replated into position.
