Glasgow Engineering Co.Pty.Ltd. is one of the most diverse general engineering workshops in Tasmania, for over 128 years now, the company has been supporting manufacturing, industry and mining in the State with great success but sadly the company has now out lived many of its customers and competitors alike.

The Tasmanian economy is currently undergoing a change from an industrial base of heavy industry to a service based economy. We are seeing many manufacturing business going off shore in the quest of competitiveness in a global economy. With this, its our ability to evolve in an ever changing market that is the reason we are still trading today. We still have the engineering business undertaking repairs and maintenance for customers from around the State but we have grown our retail division supplying only premium brands of engines and generators and home appliances to the Tasmanian market. In compiling all our history, it has been interesting to see the highs and lows of the Tasmanian economy and the effects that it has played on this business over the years.
